HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Santa Clara University men's water polo team lost to 18th-ranked BYU Hawaii, for the second time in as many day, dropping a 13-4 decision in an afternoon match on Saturday. The Broncos followed with a 13-6 loss to Cal Baptist.
The Broncos opened the day's action with an 8-5 loss to Chaminade. The Broncos are no 10-20 overall.
"We played three games today against great competition," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "We're not a deep team right now, so we just got worn down, but the high quality of opponents is helping us improve our overall game."
Against BYU, the four goals were scored by junior J.P Doucette, sophomore Mark Oda and freshmen Whit Gilfillan and Marc Hausle.
Doucette let the Broncos with three goals against Cal Baptist, while fellow junior Logan Gee notched two and freshman Austin Brizgys added one.
Sophomore netminder Peter Moore registered 13 saves in each contest.
The Broncos close out action in Hawaii with a contest on Sunday.
