First Annual Bronco Polo Golf Tournament Brings in Over $36,000June 04, 2012With an eye towards raising money for the program, Santa Clara men's water polo hosted its first-ever Bronco Polo Golf Tournament at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, Calif. on May 21. The event was put together by Scott Pritchett, father of red-shirt freshman goalie Matt Pritchett and chair of the tournament, Bronco head coach Keith Wilbur and Associate Athletic Director Fred Smith.

Men's Water Polo Player James Case Named All-ACWPC Honorable MentionFebruary 20, 2012Santa Clara men's water polo received another post season award on Monday when senior Driver James Case was named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches' All-American Honorable Mention list. This is the second year in a row that Case has received this honor. He was also a First-Team All-WWPA performer in 2011.

Broncos Finish Fourth At WWPA'sNovember 20, 2011Playing in the consolation game of the Western Water Polo Association Championships, No. 14 Santa Clara (17-17; 8-7 WWPA) fell to No. 10 LMU to finish in fourth place in 2011. The Broncos had a halftime lead of 5-3 after a goal with 16 seconds remaining in the half but LMU outscored Santa Clara 7-2 in the second half for the win.

Santa Clara Falls To No. 11 UC San Diego; Will Play Consolation Game SundayNovember 19, 2011Fourteenth ranked Santa Clara men's water polo (17-16; 8-5 WWPA) fell to No. 11 UC San Diego in the semifinals of the Western Water Polo Association Championships on Sat. by a score of 10-2. Santa Clara was only down 2-1 but UC San Diego scored eight unanswered goals to put the game away.

Broncos Advance To WWPA Semi-Finals With 10-6 WinNovember 18, 2011After a first-round bye in the Western Water Polo Association Championships, No. 14 Santa Clara men's water polo (17-16; 8-5 WWPA) topped Pomona-Pitzer by a score of 10-6. The win advances the Broncos to the semi-finals where they will play second-seeded UC San Diego at 3 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 19. The two teams played previously in 2011 on Nov. 4 in San Diego. The Tritons came away with a 14-7 victory.

Four Men's Water Polo Players Honored By WWPANovember 17, 2011Getting ready to enter its conference tournament as the No. 3 seed, Santa Clara men's water polo (16-16; 7-5 WWPA) had four players honored by the Western Water Polo Association. The Broncos will play in the WWPA Championships from Nov. 17 through Nov. 20. Santa Clara's first game will be at 3 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 18 against the winner of Thursday's game between seventh-seeded Claremont and 10th-seeded Whittier.

Michael Wishart Breaks Santa Clara Blocks RecordOctober 25, 2011Santa Clara University senior goalkeeper Michael Wishart now stands alone atop the Santa Clara all-time goalkeeper blocks list. In the Broncos' fifth and final game of the annual Rodeo Tournament on Sun., Oct. 23, a 13-4 win over Harvard, Wishart passed Peter Moore's career total of 1,063 blocks in the first half. Wishart currently sits at 1,066 with six regular season games and the WWPA Championships still to come.

Daley Meistrell Breaks Santa Clara Men's Water Polo Career Assists RecordOctober 12, 2011This past weekend, Santa Clara Men’s Water Polo senior Daley Meistrell broke the Santa Clara Broncos career assists record of 139 set by former standout Jack Wall. With five assists last weekend, Meistrell now has recorded 141 assists in his career. To add to the sweetness, his record-breaking assist came in the Broncos 9-6 upset over No. UC Davis.
