SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The No. 15 Broncos men's water polo team is gearing up to play their first home games of the season this Sunday against No. 1 UCLA and West Valley. After a weekend facing a number of top 20 teams down at the SoCal tournament, the Broncos are hoping to get back on track with a winning streak.  The Broncos will play UCLA at Noon on Sun., Oct. 20 and West Valley at 4 pm the same afternoon.

"UCLA has been ranked No. 1 or No. 2 all year long," said Bronco head coach Keith Wilbur. "It is very exciting to get to play a team of this caliber at our home pool.  It will obviously be a challenge for our team, but I think with the right attitude and approach, there is much that our players can benefit from this game."

UCLA was undefeated this season, until recently when No. 2 USC upset them in double overtime. Freshman Lovre Milos of Zagreb, Croatia has been the sharp-shooter for UCLA this season with 24 goals so far, followed by junior Paul Reynolds with 23. In the cage for the Bruins is redshirt-freshman Garrett Danner. After redshirting last year, Danner has anchored the defense and has tallied 101 blocks in 15 games. Last season when the Broncos faced the Bruins in 2012, they fell 17-3.

Both the Broncos and the Bruins will then play an exhibition game against West Valley Community College. West Valley is one of the most successful community college programs in the country. Current Bronco Joe Maestri played for West Valley last season when they won the NorCal Championship.

After going 1-3 last weekend at the SoCal Tournament, the Broncos hope to see more success this weekend. Senior Theo Nasser is leads the team with 21 goals scored, followed closely by freshman Graham McClone with 20. Matt Pritchett has recorded 167 saves this season.

Looking forward, the Broncos will host The Rodeo Tournament here at the Sullivan Aquatic Center from Oct. 24-27. The teams in attendance will be No. 20 California Baptist, No. 17 Harvard, No. 11 Concordia (Cal.), Brown and Bucknell.

Don't miss out on any of the action Sunday at the Sullivan Aquatic Center! Go Broncos!
