No. 16 Broncos Host Rodeo Tournament

No. 16 Broncos Host Rodeo Tournament

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- This weekend the No. 16 Broncos men's water polo team will be hosting its fourth annual Rodeo Tournament at the Sullivan Aquatic Center. The tournament will begin on Thurs., Oct. 24 as the Broncos take on No. 18 Cal Baptist at 6 pm, and then continue throughout the weekend.

"This will be the fourth year that we have hosted The Rodeo, and I think this tournament is really a testament to the Sullivan Aquatic Center," said Bronco head coach Keith Wilbur. "We have three teams from back east traveling across the country to play here, and from talking with these coaches, I know they do it because they like the venue, the location, and the competition. It is really fun to host a tournament like this with eight strong teams, to play in front of both our home fans and good water polo crowds, and we will have several big games where we will need to play our best in order to win. It should be a great weekend of water polo."
The Rodeo features eight teams, six of whom are ranked top-20: No. 16 Santa Clara, Brown, No. 17 Harvard, No. 18 Cal Baptist, Fresno Pacific, No. 20 Bucknell, No. 10 Concordia and No. 11 UC Davis. Each team will play each other once over three days.

There will be two games on Sat., Oct. 26 starting at 5 pm, and then the Broncos will kick off the weekend play at 8 am on Saturday as they take on Harvard. Games will be played throughout the day and begin again on Sun., Oct. 27 at 8 am.
