Men's Water Polo Advances to WWPA Semi Finals

DAVIS, Calif. - In the first round of the WWPA Championships, No. 14 Santa Clara men's water polo advanced to the semi finals with a 10-9 win over Cal Baptist. The Broncos outscored Cal Baptist 3-2 in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Santa Clara returns to the pool tomorrow, Sat., Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. vs. the No. 2 seed No. 10 UC San Diego.

Graham McClone led the way with three goals while Patrick Weiss and Tucker Carlson each scored twice. David Guibord, Theo Nasser and Kyle Nadel added one goal apiece. Matt Pritchett made 12 blocks in net.

The Broncos were behind 2-0 at the end of the first quarter but stormed back with three goals in the second quarter to take a 3-2 lead into halftime. Cal Baptist won the third quarter 5-4 to send the game into the fourth with the score tied 7-7. Santa Clara was able to score three goals and allow just two to take the win.
