No. 14 Men's Water Polo Falls to No. 5 Cal

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- In their final regular season game, the No. 14 Broncos fell to No. 5 Cal 11-4 at their home pool. The Broncos are now 15-14 for the season, and will begin to prepare for the WWPA Championship that will start on Nov. 22. 

The Broncos kept the game close in the first quarter but could not find the back of the net. Cal finished the first quarter with the advantage 1-0. 

David Guibord and Tucker Carlson were able to put goals in for the Broncos in the second quarter. The Bears were also able to put three more goals in and led going into half 4-2.

The third period proved to be another tough, scoreless period for the Broncos. The Bears defense was unbreakable and the Broncos could not convert their opportunities. Cal continued with the 6-2 lead going into the final period of the game.

Seniors Jimmy Moore and Theo Nasser tried to rally back and each put in their first goals on the game. The Broncos best efforts were not enough and Cal left the pool with the 11-4 win over the Broncos.
Matt Pritchett tallied 15 saves this game.
The Broncos have received the No. 3 seed for the WWPA Championship and are set to play Cal Baptist in their first game of the tournament. UC Davis will host the tournament and games will conclude on Nov. 24. The Championship game, which will give an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the winner will be at 2 pm on Nov. 24.
