PALO ALTO, Calif. –
The first tournament of the 2011 spring season for the Santa Clara University women's golf team, the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford, was suspended due to rain Saturday afternoon.

The field completed 9-11 holes before steady rain and poor course conditions forced the golfers to the clubhouse at approximately 11:50 a.m.

First round play will resume Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. with the second round following immediately thereafter.

California, at 140 (+2), was the leader in the clubhouse when play was suspended, Washington State was in second at 116 (+11) followed by Stanford, Colorado, UC Davis and Santa Clara, all at +12.
