SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara Athletics is set to host a Beam Signing Ceremony at the Stephen C. & Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center, currently under construction, on Tuesday.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a coffee and donut social at the southwest corner of the Leavey Center parking lot, near the construction site.
At 10 a.m., Father Jack Treacy will bless the beam, followed by remarks by Director of Athletics Renee Baumgartner.
A ceremonial signing by the lead donors will be at 10:15 a.m. with the beam then open for all to sign from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The Athletic Excellence Center (AEC), made possible by lead funding of $15 million from Stephen C. '60 and Patricia A. Schott, and $10 million from Mary '84 and Mark Stevens, will provide dedicated space for Broncos student-athletes to train, practice, eat and study together while also opening up a court for campus events and for all students participating in club and intramural sports.
The AEC will triple the amount of space student-athletes currently have for practice, academics, training, nutrition and medical care.

PARKING
Parking will be FREE (from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) in the Leavey Center lot. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions. Click here for a campus map.
