SAN DIEGO. Calif. - For the second straight day, the Santa Clara baseball team was unable to play its scheduled games against San Diego State due to wet conditions in the San Diego area.
The teams were attempting to play a doubleheader on Saturday after rain postponed Friday night's scheduled contest. However, continued wet condtions kept the teams off the field on Saturday as well. The Broncos and Aztecs will attempt another doubleheader on Sunday, with the first game set to begin at 1 p.m.
Santa Clara is looking to continue its winning ways in San Diego after a sweep of Utah last weekend at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara. The Broncos were led by reigning WCC/Rawlings Player of the Week, Michael Thompson in the series. He led SCU in six different offensive categories as he hit .538 over the three games.
Following their return from San Diego, Santa Clara will host Sacramento State in a 3 p.m. contest on Tuesday, February 15. On Friday, Washington will travel to Buck Shaw Stadium for a three-game set. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
