Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Jared Feikes
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the second member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2019-20 season, Jared Feikes.  The right-handed pitcher hails from the academically challenging Lakeside School in Seattle, Wash.

"I chose Santa Clara because I believe in the coaching staff's vision and ability to make the Broncos a powerhouse baseball program.  I also wanted to come to Santa Clara so that I could work with Rusty Filter, one of the best pitching coaches in the country.  Along with the baseball aspect I will be able to pursue the academic subjects I desire while getting a world class education," said Feikes.

Feikes is a multi-sport athlete who captains both the baseball and basketball teams for the Lions.  The 6-foot-2 Feikes plays shooting guard on the hardwood and plays first base and right field in addition to pitching on the diamond.

The right-hander was selected as a 2018 Rawlings-Perfect Game Underclassmen All-American High Honorable Mention as well as to the 2018 Kansas City Royals Area Code Team.

"Jared is one of the top prep right-handers in the Pacific Northwest.  He had a lot of school options but chose Santa Clara.  He comes from Lakeside, which is a high academic school in Seattle.  Jared's pitched in some big tournaments on big stages and done very well.  I expect big things out of him," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

Our next future Bronco, Cole Kitchen, will be announced the week of Dec. 3.
