SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Hayd Pearce surrendered just two earned runs over six innings and Pacific combined to score seven times in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away for a 13-3 win over Santa Clara baseball on Saturday.
Tyler Ryan and Bryce Kirk each drove in four runs for the Tigers (19-16, 6-8 West Coast Conference) who have won the first two games of the series.
Alex LeForestier scored three runs and joined Kirk and Kevi Sandri in each posting two of the team's 10 hits.
Kirk and Sandri each had RBIs in the sixth when Pacific scored three times against Santa Clara starter Keegan McCarville to extend a 4-2 lead.
Kirk added a three-run blast in the seventh inning off reliever Julian Tristan to increase the lead to 11-2.
Pearce (3-0) struck out four and did not walk a batter in remaining perfect on the season.
Jake MacNichols and Ryan McCarthy each homered for the second-straight game for the Broncos (7-25, 1-10).
McCarville (3-6) took the loss after pitching five innings, surrendering six hits and seven runs (all earned).
Santa Clara led 2-0 on MacNichols' two-run blast in the first inning, but Ryan's three-run homer highlighted a four-run fourth for the Tigers.
MacNichols and Tony Boetto each had two hits for Santa Clara.
