SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's basketball team announced its schedule today for the 2007-08 season. With new head coach Kerry Keating leading the way, the Broncos face a difficult non-conference schedule with nine games away from home before beginning conference play on Jan. 12 against Saint Mary's. SCU will play on ESPNU or ESPN2 five times this season.

After opening the regular season at home at the Leavey Center against Cal State Monterey Bay on Nov. 9, the Broncos play seven straight games on the road. The team first heads to senior captain Brody Angley's hometown, Redding, Calif., for a game against Simpson College on Nov. 13. The game will be played at Shasta College at 6 p.m. PT. Following Angley's homecoming game, SCU plays at Nevada, Utah, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington, Utah State and San Jose State from Nov. 17-Dec. 8.

The Broncos final two non-conference games come against heavyweights, Minnesota and Stanford. SCU plays Stanford at the Pete Newell Challenge on Dec. 19 at HP Pavilion in San Jose and travels to Minnesota to play the Golden Gophers on Dec. 22. The Minnesota game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

The non-conference home games include Pacific, Montana and San Jose State, along with the annual Cable Car Classic at the Leavey Center. The Cable Car Classic welcomes Denver, Morgan State and Niagara for the first time.

In West Coast Conference play, the Broncos again begin their schedule against local rival, Saint Mary's, traveling to Moraga for a road game on Jan. 12. SCU will make four appearances on ESPN2 or ESPNU during conference play, including Jan. 21 against Pepperdine, Feb. 4 against Portland, Feb. 11 against Saint Mary's and the season finale on Mar. 3 at Gonzaga. Other highlights include home games at the Leavey Center against Gonzaga on Saturday, Feb. 2 and San Francisco on Monday, Feb. 25.

The WCC Championships take place in San Diego at the Jenny Craig Pavilion from Mar. 7-10.
