Santa Clara, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's water polo team will participate in an alumni match at the Leavey Center pool this Saturday. Game time will be 1 p.m. Among the expected former Broncos who will be suiting up include John Doucette, Daniel Figoni, Kenny Flanagan-De La Hoz, Peter Moore, Dan O'Connell, and Mark Oda. Following the match will be a barbeque for alumni, current players, and their families.

"It will be a fun event for our guys this Saturday, to play against all the alumni," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "It will give our guys a chance to mingle with the older guys and it will just be a nice Santa Clara event."

Last week, the Broncos came away with a 3-1 record at the Inland Empire Classic, hosted by the University of La Verne. Santa Clara downed Chapman 15-1, La Verne 9-8, and Claremont 10-8 before falling to Redlands 9-8 in a tightly contested match. Pacing SCU was freshman Jack Wall and redshirt junior Mike Petersen. Wall was an offensive force for his team, scoring eight goals in the tournament and Petersen had a solid performance in the cage, posting eight and 10 blocks, respectively, in Santa Clara's final two matches.

"We played pretty well this weekend. We grinded out some victories which was really important," said Wilbur on the play of his team last weekend. "We have some young guys and it gave them some time to gel with the team."
