SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Fresh off a Senior Day win in its lone home dual of the 2021 season, Santa Clara Beach Volleyball is set for two duals Saturday in the Golden State capitol. The Broncos take on San José State at 10 a.m. and Sacramento State at 1 p.m.
The Broncos (3-2, 3-2 WCC) enter the weekend on the heels of two straight victories over San Francisco. They swept the Dons last Friday at the WCC Midseason Invitational, then edged their Bay Area rivals 3-2 on Wednesday at the SCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
Gretchen Reinert, Michelle Shaffer, Alex Anthony, Julia Sangiacomo and Jordan Bennett are tied atop the Santa Clara leaderboard with three match wins apiece.
Both Bronco opponents will play for the second time this season after getting their respective campaigns started on Sunday. The Spartans (0-1) fell 5-0 on the road against UC Davis and the Hornets (0-1) dropped a 4-1 decision at Pacific.
