The Broncos welcome back almost all of their starters and key reserves from a year ago, as well as several key recruits, to a team that finished 15th in the country with 2.2 goals per game while leading the West Coast Conference in goals (51), assists (37), and points (139) en route to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
The team is led by WCC Freshman of the Year Kelsey Turnbow who finished second in the conference with 13 goals, five game-winners, and 31 points. Also back are Maddie Gonzalez who scored 10 goals, Maria Sanchez who had five goals and six assists, and Julie Doyle who scored eight goals despite missing five and a half games with injury.
Senior Melissa Lowder looks to lead the way in the back after posting 69 saves and a .734 save percentage a year ago.
The regular season opens Aug. 17 at San Jose State with the home-opener coming Aug. 20 against Cal.
Fans can get their first look at the team Aug. 11 at the Red and White Scrimmage at Stevens Stadium. Entry is free.
