SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the finale of the Santa Clara Round Robin, Santa Clara softball fell to Cal State Bakersfield 10-2 in five innings on Sunday afternoon.

Four errors by the Broncos (5-24) in the top of the third led to eight Roadrunner runs. Bakersfield had seven hits and sent 14 batters to the plate in the top of the third to take an 8-2 lead.

Josie Flores had a three-run triple and scored a run in the Roadrunner’s (6-15) big inning. Sydney Raeber collected a pair of hits and a walk while Alex Simmons scored a pair of runs.

Kimberly Goulart (0-2) got the loss in 2 1/3 innings. She allowed eight unearned runs on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Justine Garner smacked a pitch to left-center for an RBI double in the top of the first and Chiara Biagini added a solo home run in the home half of the second to make it 2-0 Santa Clara.

Alyssa Stockton, the starter for the Roadrunners, was chased after 1 2/3 innings.

Lyndsay Klimenko (1-6) picked up the win in 3 1/3 innings out of the bullpen. She allowed just a walk.

Santa Clara returns to action Friday at 11:45 a.m. at UC Santa Barbara and at 4:15 p.m. vs. CSU Bakersfield in the Gaucho Classic II in Santa Barbara.
