James Named WCC Pitcher of the Week After Three Complete Games, Two Shutouts

WCC Release

SANTA CLARA, Calif.
McCall James has been named West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after a spectacular weekend vs. Saint Mary's. It is the first recognition for the Bronco sophomore.

James tossed her first two shutouts of the season in the first two games of the series to lead the Broncos to a series win over the Gaels to finish the 2016 season.

James' ERA on the weekend was a measly 0.67 in 21 innings. She allowed 17 hits and walked just three while striking out six en route to a pair of wins.

She finished the season with a team-high 166 1/3 innings pitched and led the team in wins. James also led the Broncos with 14 complete games and tied for the team-lead with 35 appearances and two shutouts.

The last time Santa Clara had back-to-back shutouts was last year when Ciara Gonzales shutout Brown and James shutout Manhattan on March 21-22.
