SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's water polo team will host its final home game of the regular season, taking on seventh-ranked Hawaii at the Leavey Pool at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
The Broncos are 14-15 on the season and are led by a pair of senior goal scorers. Kelley Mays leads all Broncos with 54, while Becky Hong has tallied 41 scores thus far in the season.
"Hawaii is the highest ranked opponent we will have faced this year," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "Having this caliber opponent will definitely benefit our players because it gives our team a chance to play against top level competition. It will be a great experience for our women's team to get to play Hawaii at home.
"This is also a great opportunity for anybody at Santa Clara who is interested in seeing a water polo game to see our Santa Clara women's team playing one of the best teams in the country."
The Broncos, who concluded a 15-match road trip over the last month, will look to break a three-match losing streak against the Rainbow Wahine. Hawaii is 8-11, with all of its losses coming to other nationally-ranked squads.
