Women’s Water Polo Hosts Conference Opponent Concordia Friday

Alumni Game/Social Event - Saturday, April 16

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's water polo team remains at home this week to face Golden Coast Conference (GCC) opponent Concordia (Calif.) on Friday. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Sullivan Aquatic Center.

The Broncos (8-13, 1-3) dropped a pair of home games last weekend, falling short to GCC opponents San Diego State, 9-3, and Cal Baptist, 8-5. Hannah Buck led Santa Clara with three goals on the weekend and Elizabeth Anderson contributed eight earned ejections.

Goalkeeper Sydni Estrella started both games for Santa Clara, tallying 18 total saves.

Santa Clara looks to bounce back against the Eagles (1-14, 0-4). Concordia won its most recent game 19-10 over Cal Tech.

"We're working on a lot of stuff we saw last weekend," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We obviously need to get our offense going a little bit more, so we've been focusing on different things especially in the half court and then generating our counter attack more often. That's been our focus of the week and it should be a good matchup with Concordia this weekend."

The Broncos are holding their annual Alumni game and social event on Saturday. The game is set for 4 p.m. and followed by a meet-and-greet in the California Mission Room of Benson Center.

Santa Clara plays two more regular season contests after Friday, facing Fresno Pacific on the road (April 21) and Pacific at home (April 23).

Admission and Parking: Admission is $5 for each home game. Parking should be available in the Leavey Center lot or the main campus parking structure. The Leavey lot is free after 2:30 p.m. Click here for a campus map and parking information.
