SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's water polo had seven players honored on the 2016 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Women's All-Academic Team.
Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, athletes receive Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41), or Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors.
A total of 504 athletes were named to the team with the ACWPC awarding 131 Outstanding, 198 Superior, and 175 Excellent accolades.
Keri Clifford was named Outstanding, Kathryn Burke, Erin Sheridan, and Elle Surber were Superior, and Blair Akerland, Francesca Puccinelli, and Cathy Cantoni were Excellent.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC.
