Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at University of Hawai'i Invitational

OHAU, Hawaii - The Santa Clara University men's golf team concluded its fall season with a fourth place showing on Tuesday at the University of Hawai'i Invitational at the Turtle Bay Golf Club on Ohau's North Shore.

The Broncos sat in second place after the first two rounds, trailing the University of San Francisco by only one stroke. Tuesday's third and final round proved to be the difference as the Broncos shot a 301 as a team, while the University of Virginia stormed back from third place to win the title after shooting a 295 as a team.

For the third week in a row, freshman Matt Klenz was the top Bronco finisher, earning his third top-10 finish with a three-round total of 5-over par, 221. Klenz finished six while teammate Sandy Horacek also garnered a top-10 spot, finishing eighth with a socre of 7-over par, 223.

Kevin Bric finished just out of the top-10, finising 11th with a three-round total of 226. Jonathan Edwards and John Colyar wrapped-up the Broncos scoring, finishing with two-day totals o 238 and 243, respectively.

The Hawai'i Invite concludes the Broncos' Fall season. Santa Clara will not resume action until March 6-7 when it participates in the UCSB Bite Invitational.
