SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer faces San Diego on Friday in its season finale. The match at Torero Stadium will kickoff at 7 p.m. PT. 

The Broncos boast a 32-13-4 all-time record against the Toreros. In the 2015 matchup, Santa Clara won, 3-0 over San Diego at Stevens Stadium.

"I think this game is really important," head coach Cameron Rast said. "I think everybody wants to know that we can win and everybody wants to go out and perform well and gain that confidence. We have to earn that, that's the big piece in the end, we want to believe in each other."

THE BRONCOS

Santa Clara (5-9-1, 0-5-1 WCC) has the best goals against average in the West Coast Conference, allowing just 0.91 goals per game. Along with being tops in the league, that is No. 43 mark in the nation. An experienced back line in front of sophomore goalkeepers Dakota Havlick and senior Pasha Hashemi has allowed 14 goals in 15 matches and posted four shutouts.

"In this game, we want to make sure that as a group we can move forward," Rast said. "Not on an individual basis where one or two guys play well, but collectively where we play for each other, play together and play for the result."

Scoring has not come easy for the Broncos, totaling eight goals in 14 games. Junior Carlos Delgadillo is the leading scorer on the team with three goals, two of which were game-winners. Delgadillo has scored seven game-winners in his career and 17 goals overall. Junior Satoshi "Yoshi" Chaffin has pitched in five points (assists worth one, goals worth two) on the year, scoring and assisting on game-winning goals for the Broncos. Senior Edson Cardona and junior Jonathan Jarrett have also opened their scoring accounts this year.

THE TOREROS

San Diego (5-9-3, 2-4 WCC) enters Friday's match after falling in a tough overtime match to San Francisco, 4-3.

Miguel Berry leads the team in scoring with seven goals on the year and has also dished out an assist. Michael Turner is second in scoring with five goals and is tops on the team in assists with six. The team has scored 23 goals and dished out 23 assists.

Thomas Olsen has started 15 games in goal for the Toreros while Connor Hountalas has played in three games and started two of them. Olsen has allowed 28 goals and made five saves with a 4-7-3 record. Hountalas has allowed five goals, made five saves and posted a 1-2 record.

SD went 10-5-3 in 2015 and posted a 5-1-1 record in league play.
