The Santa Clara University men's golf team placed 10th after the final round of play at the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, about an hour northwest of the Gaucho campus.

The Broncos shot a nine-over par 297 on the par-72, 7,105-yard layout, and finished with a three-round total of 907, 43 strokes over par, tying with UC Irvine in the 18-team field. UC Davis won the team event, with a 17-over par 881, while UC Riverside placed second, three strokes back. The top five was rounded out by CS Northridge, Saint Mary's and New Mexico State. The host Gauchos placed sixth.

The Broncos were led by Jonathan Edwards and Jong Yoon, who finished third rounds six-over par and tied for 15th in the field. Justin Ahasic tied for 59th, 11 strokes behind his teammates. Santa Clara finished out the day as follows: Matt Klenz is tied for 68th place with a 234 and Michael Nicoletti rounds out the scorecard with his 243, and tied for 87th place.

Travis Bertoni of Cal Poly won the individual competition after scoring a three-under par 213. Brian Thornburg of New Mexico State finished one stroke back, and Brendan Steel of UC Riverside and Pete Sisich of CS Northridge tied for third at one under.

Santa Clara will next compete at the WCC Championships, to be held April 12-13 in Fresno. SCU will conclude the spring season at the U.S. Intercollegiate, hosted by Stanford April 17-18.
