SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis returns home to host New Mexico on Wednesday after playing the last four matches on the road. First serve is at 1 p.m. from the Degheri Tennis Center.
Due to current State of California guidelines, spectators will not be permitted inside Degheri Tennis Center. In addition, only essential personnel is allowed on campus. The general public is allowed only to 'pass through' campus, such as on a walk, but no lingering, gathering, lounging, etc. is permitted.
Under fifth-year head coach Niall Angus, the Broncos are 33-6 at home with two of those losses coming at the Broadway Tennis Center in Burlingame, California when they needed to be moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Santa Clara (2-3, 0-1) will look to rebound against New Mexico after losing at BYU and Stanford the last two weekends.
In the loss to Stanford, sophomore Mann Shah played atop the singles lineup to defeat No. 119 ranked Tristan Boyer in three sets. Freshman Guillaume Dalmasso has a team-best 4-1 singles record with three of those wins coming on court four.
The Lobos (2-5) have lost four-straight and will play at Cal Poly on Monday before travelling up to Santa Clara. One of New Mexico's wins came against BYU in the season opener, beating the Cougars 4-3 in Provo Utah.
The doubles team is 12-5 on the season including a perfect 6-0 on court two.
Rafael Abdulsalam has a team-best 4-2 singles record including 3-0 on court five.
