Men’s Tennis Returns to WCC Action Hosting Pepperdine and LMU

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis returns to West Coast Conference play this week hosting Pepperdine on Friday and LMU on Saturday at the Degheri Tennis Center.  Friday's first serve is at noon and Saturday's at 10 a.m.

Due to current State of California guidelines, spectators will not be permitted inside Degheri Tennis Center. In addition, only essential personnel is allowed on campus. The general public is allowed only to 'pass through' campus, such as on a walk, but no lingering, gathering, lounging, etc. is permitted.

The Broncos (3-4, 0-1) already have a WCC contest under their belt having played at BYU back on March 6, losing 5-2 to the Cougars.  Since then, Santa Clara has played four nonconference matches leading up to the heart of conference action this week.

In their last match, the Broncos fell to Fresno State, 5-2, at home suffering their first loss at the Degheri Tennis Center this season, dropping to 2-1.

Pepperdine (6-4, 0-0) enters the match on a three-game winning streak including a road victory against No. 8 ranked USC on March 5.  Friday's match will be the WCC opener for the Waves who are 2-2 in true away matches.

LMU (3-5, 0-0) will play San Francisco the day before facing SCU to open WCC action.  The Lions are 1-2 in road contests this season.
