Dick Davey, on game: "We turned the ball over a lot in the first half and San Diego played well. But we kind of shut them down in the second half and played a strong half. Today was a big one for us so it was nice to come down here and get a win."
Davey, looking ahead to Monday: "Every game is big and Monday is another one that we need to get on the road. USF has started out well in the conference and they are a tough team to play against. We will need another good effort up there."
Sean Denison, on shooting 6-for-6: "I am getting the ball in good spots and trying to finish around the basket. I don't want to force it when I get it and it has been working for me. Also, the guards are getting me the ball right where I can score so that helps."
Denison, on win: "In the first half we were frustrated and not playing well. After halftime, I am not sure what changed, but the guys came out and played a much better half. If we play that way all the time I think we will be alright."
Mitch Henke, on defensive effort: "We had a lot more intensity in the second half than we did in the first half. We contested all of their shots and we were able to create on offense. We also controlled the defensive boards and did not give them second shots."
Henke, on coming off the bench: "It is a lot different than starting, but I try to bring a lot of energy when I come in. I want to give the team a boost and I try to hit any open shots that I get."
