Next Up for the Broncos
Santa Clara University plays its second game in three nights as the Broncos face the Eastern Washington Eagles on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Leavey Center. Eastern Washington is coming off an 87-66 win against the Portland Pilots on the road. The two teams have not met since 2003-04, when they played two games with EWU winning both. Bronco guard Danny Pariseau played three seasons at Eastern Washington before transferring to Santa Clara before his senior season. The all-time series is tied 2-2.

Last Game for the Broncos
Santa Clara picked up its first road win of the season as the Broncos exploded for a 67-49 win over the Pacific Tigers on Saturday night. Danny Pariseau led the way for SCU scoring 20 points and dishing out five assists. Mitch Henke scored 14 including three three-pointers in the second half. Center John Bryant netted a season high 13 points while also delivering two key blocks. Santa Clara has now won two straight games against Pacific.

Head Coach Dick Davey
In his 15th season as the head coach at Santa Clara, Dick Davey has compiled a career record of 236-183 (112-84 WCC), which includes three 20-win seasons. Davey has also posted a 133-59 record at home for a .692 winning percentage. He owns the most WCC wins among active coaches and is the first Bronco coach to lead Santa Clara to four 10-plus win seasons in WCC play. A three-time conference Coach of the Year, Davey has coached Santa Clara to three regular season league titles, one WCC Tournament title, three NCAA Tournament appearances and five wins over top-25 teams. Davey served as a Bronco assistant for 15 seasons (1977-92) under former head coach and athletic director Carroll Williams and is a member of the prestigious Board of Directors for the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Bronco's 100th Season
2006-07 marks the 100th season of men's basketball at Santa Clara. The basketball team at Santa Clara first started in 1905 and became a varsity sport in 1917-18. In their 99 seasons, SCU has had seven All-Americans, 15 postseason appearances (11 NCAA, 4 NIT), three WCC Coaches of the Year, and one visit to the Final Four (1951-52). In 2006-07, the Broncos again face some of the top competition in the country as they attempt to earn their 16th postseason appearance.

Notes: The Broncos and the Eagles played two times during the 2003-04 season with Eastern Washington winning both games, one at the Leavey Center and one at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash. ... for the Broncos, Brandon Rohe, Sean Denison and Scott Dougherty all played for SCU on Dec. 15, 2003 with Rohe scoring 10 points in the game, while current Bronco Danny Pariseau played for Eastern Washington in that game ... Pariseau scored six points and had four assists in 26 minutes in that game, which EWU won 75-65 ... in the second game that season, EWU won 65-54 with Rohe and Denison again appearing for Santa Clara and scoring six and two points respectively ... Pariseau Explodes
Senior guard Danny Pariseau had a career game against Pacific on Saturday night, scoring 20 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the floor. He missed his first shot of the night, but then was perfect from the field and from the foul line (5-for-5) the rest of the game. His previous career high in points was 15, which he had accomplished on three occasions. The Spokane, Wash. native also notched five assists and zero turnovers to lead SCU to the win. For the season, Pariseau is shooting 53 percent from the field and 52 percent from beyond the arc. He is now averaging 10.6 points per game.

Beating Pacific In Stockton
Santa Clara pulled away to an 18-point win over Pacific on the Tigers home court on Saturday night. It was the Broncos first road win of the season after dropping their first two road games. The margin of victory was the largest by a visiting team over the Tigers since Jan. 16, 1992 when UNLV beat Pacific 70-52. In non-conference games since 1989, Pacific had a 65-13 home record prior to Saturday night's game against SCU. Also, Pacific had a 123-27 record in the last 10 seasons at home.

Henke Leads Run
Junior forward Mitch Henke had a big second half to help Santa Clara pull away from Pacific in the second half on Saturday. With the score tied 33-33, Henke hit a three-pointer to put Santa Clara ahead for good. He then scored eight straight points to turn a 10-point lead into an 18-point lead and put the game out of reach. Henke finished the game with 14 points and nine rebounds, nearly getting his second double double of the year.

Angley Slowed by Food Poisoning
Junior point guard Brody Angley did not start for the first time this season against Pacific on Saturday after suffering from food poisoning all week. Angley did come off the bench to play 15 minutes and dish out three assists.

Big Men Shooting The Ball
Santa Clara boast three players 6-10 or taller in John Bryant, Sean Denison and Josh Higgins. All three have started the season shooting the ball extremely well. The trio has combined to shoot 56 percent from the floor through nine games.

Four Out of Five
After starting the season 2-2, Dick Davey's team has won four out of its past five games. SCU has beaten San Jose State, Hawai'i, Alabama State and Pacific, while losing to Missouri State during the stretch. The Broncos are now 6-3 on the season. With a win against Eastern Washington on Monday, SCU would match its best start since 2002-03. SCU went on to start 9-3 that season.

WCC Leaders
Individually and as a team, Santa Clara currently ranks among the best in the West Coast Conference in a number of statistical categories. As a team, SCU is first in scoring defense (62.0), first in rebounding margin (+9.2), first in assists (16.0) and second in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.99), offensive rebounds (13.6) and field goal percentage defense (.393). The team has four players in the top-10 in field goal percentage, Sean Denison (.592), Josh Higgins (.580), Danny Pariseau (.530) and John Bryant (.522). Brody Angley leads the league in assists (4.44), while Pariseau and Angley are first and second in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.06 and 2.00 respectively. Pariseau also leads the conference in three-point shooting, hitting 52 percent from behind the arc this year.

The Longest Day
The Broncos met at the Leavey Center on their campus to begin their trip to Springfield, Mo. at 5:45 a.m. PT on Nov. 30. Little did the team know that they would arrive in Springfield the next morning at 5:33 a.m. CT after 22 hours of travel. The Broncos took off from San Jose International Airport at 7:30 a.m. PT and arrived with no problems at Denver International Airport at 10:45 a.m. MT. However, after waiting for an hour for their flight to Springfield, the team learned that its flight had been canceled due to a snowstorm across the entire region. The coaching staff then began looking at different options: flying to Tulsa and taking a bus to Springfield, flying to St. Louis and busing to Springfield. In the end, the team caught a 6:45 flight that was delayed until 7:10 to Kansas City that arrived at about 9:45. The team then waited for the bus, which had driven through the snowstorm from Springfield to Kansas City. The bus arrived, but the team's bags had not been put onto its flight. Without their bags, the Broncos boarded the bus for Springfield. After a short pit stop for dinner at Denny's and a Waffle House, the Broncos got on the road at 12:25 and drove through a snowstorm for five hours to arrive at their hotel in Springfield at 5:33 a.m. CT, 14 hours after their scheduled arrival. The bags, which had come in on the next flight, arrived midmorning on Friday to complete the team's travel saga.

Rebounding
SCU continued its domination on the boards as the team held a 39-24 edge on the boards against Pacific. So far this season, Santa Clara has out-rebounded its opponent in seven of nine games, while grabbing 40 or more rebounds in six games. The team holds a 349-266 edge in rebounds on the season and a plus-9.2 rebound margin. Four different players are averaging more than four rebounds per game, while point guard Broday Angley is averaging just below that mark at 3.9 per game.

Defense Steps Up
The Broncos defense continues to give opponents headaches as they held Pacific to 33 percent shooting on the Tigers home court. Teams are now shooting 39 percent from the floor for the season against SCU and are scoring just 62.0 points per game. Santa Clara has now held four of its past five opponents to under 40 percent from the floor, while also holding two out of the past three opponents to less than 50 points.

Kaempf Returns
Senior guard Joey Kaempf returned to the court on Saturday against Pacific and played 11 minutes after missing the past five games with a sprained right foot. He grabbed four rebounds in the game. He had made only one other appearance this year, coming off the bench against California on Nov. 20. The senior guard previously missed the game on Nov. 14 against Holy Names due to a concussion.

Parham Ready
Senior forward Tristan Parham is ready to return to the court for the Broncos after missing two weeks following knee surgery. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Nov. 28 and was out of action for two weeks. Parham missed all of last year with knee problems, but played in the first four games this season.

Home Cooking
Santa Clara has gotten off to good starts at the Leavey Center the past few years. Last year, the Broncos started out with four straight wins at home and in 2004-05 they won their first five at home. Three years ago, the team won five out of six at home to start the year. This season has been no different as SCU has won four out of five so far at the Leavey Center.

Backcourt Combo
Senior Danny Pariseau and junior Brody Angley have proven to be a dangerous combination in the backcourt together. For the season, they are combining for 18.2 points, 8.3 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game from the guard spots. The pair has also combined for 19 steals on the season. Pariseau has a 2.1-to-1 assist-to-turnovver ratio while Angley is at 2.0-to-1 for the season.

Home and Away
The Broncos started the season with a stretch of five out of six games at home, including three home games in five days that began Nov. 25 against Nevada. Following the game against Hawai'i on Nov. 29, SCU now plays five out of six games away from home, beginning with the Price Cutter Classic in Springfield, Mo. on Dec. 1 and 2.

Angley Aims For Top 10
Junior point guard Brody Angley has 40 assists on the season, giving him 263 career assists and leaving him less than 50 assists away from cracking the Broncos all-time top 10 in that category. He needs 46 assists to pass Chris Lane (1984-88) and move into 10th all time.
