Santa Clara, Calif. - The Santa Clara University athletic department announced today that men's basketball games will air on 1220-KNTS for the fourth straight season. Beginning with Saturday night's game against the University of Utah, KNTS along with SantaClaraBroncos.com will broadcast every men's basketball game this season on the Bronco Radio Network. The Broncos long-time play-by-play man, Dave Lewis, will also return to the broadcasts for his 12th season at Santa Clara.
"We are happy to be back with KNTS for another season," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Dan Coonan. "We have developed a strong identity on their station the past three years and we are looking forward to another great year of Bronco basketball on KNTS."
KNTS begins its broadcast schedule Saturday night as the Broncos face Utah at the Leavey Center at 7:00 p.m. PT. Bronco fans can then tune in as SCU travels to Berkeley on Monday night to face the Cal Bears at Haas Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. PT. Overall, the station will broadcast a minimum of 19 games this year with the remainder of the games being broadcast at Bronco All-Access on SantaClaraBroncos.com. Every game, including the KNTS broadcasts, will also be streamed on SantaClaraBroncos.com.
"Santa Clara basketball has been on our station for three years and we are proud to continue our association with the Broncos in 2006-07," said KNTS General Manager Ken Miller. "We are excited for another great season of Santa Clara basketball."
News Talk 1220-KNTS is a talk-radio station based in Fremont. The station also airs Oakland Athletics baseball games as well as San Jose State and Stanford basketball.
