SCU Men's Golf Finishes its Weekend at Former Site of PGA's Bob Hope Classic

FINAL RESULTS

SANTA CLARA, Calif. –
 The Santa Clara University men's golf program had three freshmen lead its five-man team at the 2013 Desert Intercollegiate this weekend at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The Classic Club is the same course which hosted the PGA's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Navigating the vast, 7,305-yard, par 72 layout, it was Martin Keskari (Frankfurt, Germany / Carl-Schurz-Schule) posting rounds of 75-73-73, Gio Gandionco (Cebu City, Philippines / Paref Springdale School) going 78-77-75 and Drew Miller (Thousand Oaks, Calif. / Chaminade College Prep) carding 74-79-77. 

Keskari was SCU's top individual finisher, tied for 26th on the individual leaderboard. Gandionco and Miller finished 57th and 59th respectively. As a team, Santa Clara was 14th out of 17 competing teams. 

No. 13 TCU won the team title by 25 shots over Santa Clara's West Coast Conference rival, 23rd-ranked St. Mary's. San Francisco came in tied for third. TCU had each of the tournament's top two individual finishers. Julien Brun won the event at 10-under par (68-71-67) and teammate Eli Cole was the runner up at 5-under (69-73-69).

Details:
 All three days will begin with a 7:30 a.m. (Pacific Time) with tee times. Participants will tee off from holes one and 10. The field will play one 18-hole round on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
