Men's Soccer Announces 2015 Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer released its 2015 schedule today. The Broncos will open the season with an exhibition game at Stanford before heading to North Carolina for a pair of games to start the regular season. In all Santa Clara will play 18 games with 11 coming at Buck Shaw.

"When putting our schedule together it was important to challenge the team to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament through its RPI strength," said Santa Clara head coach Cameron Rast. "I think we've done that with our non-conference match ups. In turn this portion of the season also prepares us for the WCC games and the great tests of conference play. We've had two WCC teams go to the NCAA Final Eight the last four years so battling to win the conference should help prepare our team to play for a College Cup run. In both cases it is a schedule made to challenge our group to play great soccer this year.

The season starts with at Wake Forest on Aug. 28 before a match up at North Carolina two days later. The Broncos' hope-opener will be Sept. 4 vs. Wisconsin and will begin a seven game home stand. The Broncos will not play a road game the entire month of September.

The non-conference schedule wraps up at San Jose State Oct. 1 and at Akron Oct. 6.

On Oct. 11 the Broncos will begin a run at the WCC title when they host San Francisco. After two more home games, they will head out on the road for three away contests before wrapping up the regular season on Nov. 14 vs. San Diego for Senior Day.
