Boise State begins the tournament with two wins over Santa Clara. BSU defeated SCU 7-0 Friday night. BSU's nine-game winning-streak is a program record.

Allie Crump, who two-hit Santa Clara through six innings on the mound Friday night, homered as part of a three-run second inning Saturday morning, which put BSU up 3-0. One game removed from throwing BSU's first-ever no-hitter, Aubray Zell pitched four scoreless frames to improve her record to 2-1.

Trailing by five in the seventh, Santa Clara loaded the bases with no outs on consecutive base hits by Kristin Welsh. Stephanie Fisher and Stephanie Smith, but were unable to score off BSU closer Lela Work.

San Jose State 14, Santa Clara 1
Fueled by six walks and three Sana Clara errors in the first two innings, the Spartans jumped out to an 11-0 lead and cruised to the win. San Jose State won both its games Saturday, knocking off Albany 3-2 in the morning session.

It marks the third consecutive victory for SJSU over SCU this season. The Spartans swept a double-header against the Broncos at SJSU Field back on Feb. 20. On Saturday, freshman Annica Wolfe went 3 for 4 with four RBI and sophomore Cheryl Freitas was 2 for 2 with three runs and three RBI.

Three Bronco pitchers combined to work the five-inning game. True freshman starter Kelly Scribner (0-1) took the loss, the first of her career.
