SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Freshman Drew Ozanne hit a two-run triple in the eighth inning as Santa Clara University overcame a six-run deficit on its home field to beat UC Davis 8-6 at Stephen Schott Stadium Wednesday night.

Santa Clara (19-24) trailed 6-0 after four innings but had nine of its 11 hits in the later stages to rally for the win. Ozanne's go-ahead three-bagger brought home Ryan Rieger and Patrick Terry, who had both singled off Aggie closer Matthew Lewis to put Santa Clara in position to take the lead.

"We haven't comeback to win for a while now," said Santa Clara head coach Mark O'Brien. "This was a good win for us. Our guys were focused and determined not to let us go quietly."

Ozanne went 2-for-3, doubling and scoring in the fifth, then hitting his first career triple in the eighth. Pat Stover also doubled, Lucas Herbst had three singles and Terry scored twice and collected two hits.

Four Bronco relievers combined to keep UC Davis (19-21) off the scoreboard after Scott Lyman hit a two-RBI double to centerfield in the fourth. Steve Kalush struck out three in two scoreless innings and Alex Rivers (5-6) pitched a flawless top of the eighth to pick up the win.
