SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - In cold and wet conditions Tuesday morning the Santa Clara University men's golf team stayed the course in Santa Cruz and brought home another top-five finish. Thanks to another solid team effort the Broncos finished fifth in the 16-team field at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Course.

Tuesday's finish continues SCU's streak of finishing at least in the top five in every tournament they've played this season, marking a run of eight tournaments thus far in 2005-06. Santa Clara will look to not only extend that streak but to also capture the team's fifth title of the year next Monday as they take part in the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in San Marcos.

John Colyar led the Santa Clara quintet Tuesday as he posted his second-straight round of 71 to finish with a total score of 142, good for a tie for sixth in the individual competition and only four strokes off the winning pace. Teammate Jong Yoon fired a second-round 73 and finished tied for 14th overall with a final score of 145.

Michael Nicoletti shot a two-over 72 today while Eric Lillibridge and Tim Lynch closed out their tournaments with rounds of 76. Mike Miller and Garrett Logan, competing as individuals, ended the day with rounds of 72 and 75, respectively.

Stanford's Rob Glube shot a 70 on Tuesday to capture the individual title with a score of 138. UTEP's Trent Rommann and San Diego's Bucky Coe rounded out the top three as they tied for second with a pair of 140s.

On the team side of things, Duke retained their lead from the first round to capture the tournament title with a final team score of 577. Stanford finished second with a 579 while San Diego jumped into third place with a strong second round and a final score of 584.
