SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's golf team will need a solid finishing round Tuesday to post a top-tier finish at the 12-team, 5th Annual USD Callaway Invitational presented by the Farms Golf Club (Par 72, 6,910-yards). SCU is in eighth place as a team after 36 holes Monday.

"This is the toughest field we've played this year (2009-10)," said Santa Clara head coach Robert Miller. "Rick (Lamb) hurt his shoulder in the practice round yesterday so we had to fly in his brother Scott, who was thrown into the fire. It's a tough golf course, Pete Dye design, target golf."

Already without their No. 3 player in Rick Lamb, SCU saw its first-round leader Cory Mehl disqualified on a technicality for playing a non-conforming ball. Scott Travers (tied for 25th) and Jimmy Cacho (tied for 31st) are the top placing SCU players thus far.
