JUNCTION CITY, Ore. - The Santa Clara men's golf team is vying for a top 5 finish in final round play today at the Oregon Duck Invitational at the 7,020-yard Shadow Hills Country Club outside of Eugene.

Jimmy Cacho finished Monday's opening-rounds just one shot off the lead with a 3-under par 171 (70-71). Scott Travers was also in the mix at 1-under 143 (69-74). The Broncos entered the 13-team event as the 6th-highest seed and currently sit in a tie for 7th as a team, but just seven strokes out of fourth.

"We need to have a real good day today to move up and get into the top 5," said Santa Clara head coach Robert Miller. "The course is playing long and it's wet. I don't think we are playing at our best, it's kind of like we are trying to survive but we still have a chance to move up."

The tournament will conclude this afternoon. Check back on www.SantaClaraBroncos.com for complete final round results this evening.
