SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball released its 2015-16 schedule today. The Broncos open the season with two exhibitions at home vs. Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 30 and on Nov. 7 vs. San Francisco State. In all Santa Clara will play 15 games at Leavey this year and 15 on the road.
"We are very excited about our schedule this year," said Santa Clara head coach JR Payne. "It is extremely challenging and will be a great test for all of our young players. The WCC is such a strong conference that we felt it was very important to prepare our young team early."
The regular season starts with a big trip against two Pac-12 schools. The Broncos travel to Washington on Nov. 14 and on Nov. 16 play at USC. After returning home to play Air Force, Santa Clara heads to the farm to take on Stanford Nov. 23.
Santa Clara then travels to the Cal Poly Tournament on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 to face off with the Mustangs and Evansville. After playing at UC Santa Barbara the team heads home for four games to finish non-conference play. The highlight will be a matchup with Texas Tech Dec. 12.
West Coast Conference play kicks off Dec. 21 with a home game vs. Pacific. BYU and San Diego come to Leavey on Jan. 7 and Jan. 9. A three game home stand Jan. 23, 28, and 30 will feature San Francisco, Gonzaga, and Portland. After three on the road the Broncos come back home to finish up the regular season home slate with games vs. LMU, Pepperdine, and Saint Mary's. The regular season ends Feb. 27 at Pacific.
The WCC Tournament will be held is Las Vegas from March 3-8.
