SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing the toughest road trip of the season, Santa Clara women's basketball heads to Provo, Utah to take on first place BYU Saturday at 11 a.m. Pacific. The Broncos took down San Diego 61-47 on Thursday for their first win over the Toreros in 11 tries.

Santa Clara is outscoring opponents 65.2-56.9 and outrebounding teams 41.4-33.1. The Broncos are No. 14 in the country with 16.3 offensive rebounds per game and their +8.3 rebound margin is No. 26 nationally.

As a team Santa Clara forces 22.2 turnovers per game, which is eighth in the country. The Broncos are fourth nationally in steals (304) and steals per game (12.7).

Santa Clara shoots 39.7 percent from the floor and has made 88 3-pointers. The Broncos are ninth in the country with 541 free throw attempts and No. 12 with 367 free throws made.

Lori Parkinson leads the team in scoring (11.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 pg). She is second with 52 steals and third with 45 assists.

Savanna Hanson leads the Broncos with 2.3 assists per game and 23 3-pointers made. She scores 8.9 ppg and is third with 2.2 steals per game.

Taylor Berry is No. 48 in the country with 57 steals and adds 7.2 ppg to go with 3.8 rpg.

Santa Clara is 1-11 all-time vs. BYU with the first meeting coming in 1998-99. Earlier this season the Cougars took down the Broncos in a close game.

BYU is outscoring opponents 69.0-60.8 and outrebounding teams 38.6-36.4. The Cougars shoot 41.7 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from beyond the arc.

After dropping the conference opener, BYU has won its last 12 games.

Lexi Rydalch is No. 5 in the country with 24.8 ppg and leads the Cougars with 64 3-pointers made. She also averages 5.9 rpg and 3.0 apg.

Kalani Purcell leads BYU with 11.3 ppg and 12.4 rpg. Her rebounding is No. 7 nationally. Purcell also leads the conference with 4.3 apg and has picked up 52 steals.

Makenzi Pulsipher scores 12.5 ppg to go with 2.3 rpg and a team-best 2.2 spg.
