Morgan McGwire Receives National Jesuit Player of the Week Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After picking up West Coast Conference co-Player of the Week honors, the awards continued to roll in for Morgan McGwire of Santa Clara women's basketball as she was named the National Jesuit Player of the Week by Jesuit Basketball Spotlight. She was also College Sports Madness National High-Major Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

McGwire averaged 16.3 points per game on the week in 33.3 minutes per game. She shot 55.9% (19-34) from the floor and 36.4% (4-11) from beyond the arc. McGwire added 7.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game while collecting five steals and two blocks.

In the Broncos' upset of No. 13/10 Stanford, McGwire scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds to go with three assists, two steals, and a block.

At Cal Poly she scored a career-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block to lead the Broncos to the win. She also hit a career-high three 3-pointers.

She capped off the week with a 17-point performance in a win vs. Evansville. McGwire scored 17 and grabbed six boards with a steal.

McGwire followed up her co-WCC Player of the Week performance with an even bigger showing for the Broncos. In Santa Clara's three wins last week she averaged 21.0 ppg on 69.0% shooting from the field and grabbed 9.7 rpg. She also picked up 11 steals in three games.

At UC Santa Barbara McGwire scored 13 and pulled down nine rebounds.

Against Simpson the sophomore forward scored a career-best 30 points on 14-of-15 shooting from the field and picked up five steals.

In the Broncos third win of the week, McGwire had a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds vs. Hope International.
