Four-Game Road Trip Concludes Saturday at Saint Mary's for Women's Basketball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Concluding a brutal four-game road trip, Santa Clara women's basketball plays rival Saint Mary's for the first time this season Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Broncos went to Provo on Thursday and made a 15-point fourth quarter comeback but fell to BYU in double overtime.

Santa Clara is 35-35 all-time vs. Saint Mary's with the first meeting coming during the 1978-79 season. Last year the two teams split, earning wins on the other's home floor.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (9-11, 4-5 WCC) is scoring 62.3 points per game this season while shooting 38.4 percent from the field and 30.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos are third in the WCC with a plus-3.4 rebounding differential. They are also third in the conference with 17.0 turnovers forced per game.

Emily Wolph leads the league in 3-pointers made with 47 and leads Santa Clara with 12.6 ppg and 4.0 assists per game. Lori Parkinson is fourth in the conference with 8.1 rpg and leads the Broncos with 1.9 steals per game. She is second on the team with 12.5 ppg.

Morgan McGwire is second on the roster with 7.8 rpg and third with 11.1 ppg. She is fourth in the WCC with 1.3 blocks per game. Marie Bertholdt, who has missed the last two games with an injury, is averaging 10.1 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Taylor Berry scores 7.6 ppg and adds 4.8 rpg.

THE GAELS
Saint Mary's (11-9, 6-3 WCC) has won three in a row and five of its last six. The Gaels lead the WCC with 72.1 ppg and a 44.4 percent mark from the floor. They are shooting 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and grab a conference-high 42.2 rpg. Their plus-10.3 rebounding margin also leads the league.

Stella Beck leads the team with 13.6 ppg on 52.2 percent shooting from the field. She is third on the team with 5.6 rpg and leads the way with 3.4 apg and 1.5 spg. Megan McKay grabs a team-high 7.8 rpg and is second with 11.1 ppg. She leads the WCC with a 57.9 percent mark from the floor.

Carly Turner has knocked down 35 3-pointers to lead the team and is scoring 10.7 ppg. She adds 5.4 rpg and 2.8 apg as well. Sydney Raggio is scoring 10.0 ppg while placing second on the Gaels with 7.4 rpg.
