SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the homestretch of the West Coast Conference schedule, Santa Clara women's basketball plays at San Diego Saturday at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, the Broncos posted a convincing 69-48 victory over Pepperdine on the road for their third win in a row.

Santa Clara is 33-38 all-time vs. San Diego with the first meeting coming in 1984-85. Earlier this season the Toreros escaped Leavey with a 57-56 win.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (13-13, 8-7 WCC) has won four of its last five games with an average margin of victory of 15.8 and the lone loss coming by one points. The Broncos are currently in a tie for fourth in the West Coast Conference standings with San Francisco.

As a team the Broncos are scoring 62.6 points per game on 38.6 percent shooting from the field and 30.9 percent from beyond the arc. They have a plus-2.5 rebound differential and are forcing 17.2 turnovers per game.

Emily Wolph leads the team in scoring with 13.2 ppg and is tops in the conference with 66 3-pointers made. She also leads Santa Clara with 3.8 assists per game and is second in the league with an 85.6 percent mark from the free throw line. Lori Parkinson leads the Broncos with 1.8 steals per game and is second in scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 pg).

Morgan McGwire leads the team with 7.9 rpg, good for fourth in the WCC. She also leads the team and is third in the conference with 1.3 bpg. McGwire is tied for third in scoring on Santa Clara with 10.6 ppg. Marie Bertholdt also scores 10.6 ppg and is grabbing 5.4 rpg.  

THE TOREROS
San Diego (11-14, 5-10 WCC) has lost two in a row and four of five. The Toreros haven't won two in a row since losing Maya Hood in the ninth game of the season.

They are scoring 64.8 ppg this season while shooting 40.7 percent from the floor but a league-low 25.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Aubrey Ward-El and Sydney Williams are the only Toreros averaging double-figures. Ward-El leads the team with 10.5 ppg and Williams is second with 10.0 ppg. Cori Woodward leads the team with 4.6 apg, fourth in the WCC. She is scoring 8.5 ppg and has hit a team-best 27 3-pointers. Katherine Hamilton leads the team with 1.6 spg and is scoring 9.3 ppg with 4.0 rpg.
