Women's Basketball Welcomes San Francisco to Leavey

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing its four-game homestand, Santa Clara women's basketball looks for some revenge against San Francisco Thursday at 7 p.m. in Leavey.

Last week the Broncos beat Portland and lost a nail-biter to Gonzaga on a pair of free throws in the final seconds.

Santa Clara is 60-37 all-time vs. San Francisco and 27-17 in Leavey. In the opening week of conference action, the Dons escaped the Hilltop with an overtime victory over the Broncos.

THE BRONCOS

Santa Clara (10-13, 5-7 WCC) is averaging 61.6 points per game this season while shooting 38.0 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos have a plus-2.6 rebound differential and are forcing 16.7 turnovers per game.

Emily Wolph leads the team with 12.7 ppg, 3.8 assists per game, 73 free throws made, 84 free throws attempted, and an 86.9 percent mark from the charity stripe. She leads the WCC with 53 3-pointers made.

Lori Parkinson is second on the Broncos with 12.4 ppg and 8.1 rpg, fifth in the conference. She leads the way with 1.8 steals per game as well. Morgan McGwire leads Santa Clara with 8.2 rpg, fourth in the league, and is third in scoring with 10.8 ppg. She is No. 3 in the WCC with 1.3 blocks per game. Marie Bertholdt scores 9.9 ppg and adds 5.4 rpg.

THE DONS
San Francisco (13-10, 7-5 WCC) is scoring 67.3 ppg on 40.3 percent shooting from the floor and 33.9 percent from 3-point land. The dons have a plus-0.3 rebound differential and are forcing 15.0 tpg.

Rachel Howard is fourth in the conference with 16.3 ppg and leads San Francisco with 43 3-pointers made. Michaela Rakova leads the team with 5.9 rpg and is scoring 9.2 ppg. Anna Seilund averages a team-high 3.8 apg and is second with 11.0 ppg. Kalyn Simon scores 9.3 ppg, third on the roster, and adds 3.3 rpg.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
