SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Looking to continue its hot start, No. 13 Santa Clara women's soccer heads out on the road for the first time in 2016. The Broncos will play at Washington State Thursday at 7 p.m.
Santa Clara took down No. 11 USC 3-2 in overtime and No. 18 Cal 1-0 in double overtime last week. The wins were historic, even for a program with such a rich history and saw the Broncos make some big leaps in the national polls.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-0) was the only team in the country to beat two teams ranked in the NSCAA top-25 during the first week of play and made the biggest jump of any team ranked both weeks.
Jenna Roering and Jordan Jesolva have each scored a goal and picked up an assist to for the team lead with three points each. Janae Gonzalez and Kellie Peay have both scored a goal and Maddie Gonzalez and Jazmin Jackmon have one assist apiece.
Melissa Lowder has allowed two goals for a 0.89 GAA. She has collected nine saves and has a .818 save percentage while also picking up her first career shutout.
THE COUGARS
Washington State (0-1) started the season with a 2-1 double overtime loss against BYU. The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute and held the advantage until the 77th minute.
Kailiana Johnson scored the lone goal for the Cougars and attempted four shots with two on goal. Morgan Weaver leads the team with seven shots and two on goal. The team attempted 18 total shots and seven on goal in their first game of the season.
Ella Dederick picked up six saves in the season-opener.
