Women's Soccer Travels to No. 2 Stanford Friday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Finishing a stretch of nine-straight games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament a year ago, Santa Clara women's soccer travels to No. 2 Stanford on Friday at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Bay Area. This is the highest ranked opponent the Broncos have played since facing then-No. 2 Stanford Sept. 22, 2013.

Santa Clara is 19-20-7 all-time against Stanford with the first meeting coming in 1980. Last year the Broncos took down then-No. 6 Stanford 1-0 at Stevens Stadium. It was Santa Clara's first win over Stanford since Sept. 20, 2006.

Last week the Broncos battled No. 20 Notre Dame to a scoreless draw and fell to No. 10 Minnesota 1-0. All eight of Santa Clara's games have been decided by one goal or finished in a tie.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-3-3) is led on offense by Jordan Jesolva. Jesolva is tied for fourth in the West Coast Conference with four goals and has added an assist for nine points. Jenna Roering, Julie Vass, Janae Gonzalez, and Kellie Peay have each added a goal for the Broncos. Jesolva and four other Broncos are tied for the team lead with one assist each.

Melissa Lowder and Courtney Ogren have split time in net this season. Lowder has started four contests and appeared in six while Ogren has made two starts and appeared in three games.

Lowder has allowed five goals for a 0.84 GAA. She has 17 saves and a .773 save percentage while collecting both shutouts.

Ogren has allowed four goals for a 1.36 GAA. She has 16 saves for an .800 save percentage.

THE CARDINAL
Stanford (6-0-1) won its first six matches of the year before tying No. 20 Notre dame 2-2 on Sunday. The Cardinal also topped No. 10 Minnesota 4-1 and No. 6 Florida 1-0 in overtime.

Megan Turner and Andi Sullivan are tied for the team lead with 10 points each. Turner is tied with Jordan DiBiasi for tops on the team with four. Turner has also added two assists. Sullivan leads the Cardinal with four assists and has added three goals.

Jane Campbell has seen the bulk of action in net. She has allowed five goals for a 0.73 GAA and made 13 saves for a .722 save percentage. The Cardinal have three shutouts with Alison Jahansouz lending a hand in two of them.
