SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing its string of Pac 12 opponents to open the season, No. 13 Santa Clara women's soccer faces Washington Sunday at 3 p.m. on the Pac 12 Network.
On Thursday, the Broncos dropped their first match of the season in a 1-0 game at Washington State. The Cougars scored late in the first half and Santa Clara was unable to tie the game despite some good chances.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-1) was the only team during the first week of the season to take down two teams ranked in the NSCAA Preseason Top-25 when it beat No. 11 USC and No. 18 Cal. The Broncos also beat a pair of ranked teams to start a season for the first time since 1993.
Jenna Roering and Jordan Jesolva have each scored a goal and picked up an assist to tie for the team lead with three points each. Janae Gonzalez and Kellie Peay have both scored a goal and Maddie Gonzalez and Jazmin Jackmon have one assist apiece.
Melissa Lowder has allowed three goals for a 0.92 GAA. She has collected 11 saves and has a .786 save percentage while also picking up her first career shutout against Cal.
THE HUSKIES
Washington (1-1) opened its season with a 2-1 loss at Portland but bounced back with a 1-0 win over Tennessee on Thursday. The Huskies have outshot their opponents 24-21 and hold a 10-9 edge in shots on goal.
Shannon Simon and Dominique Bond-Flasza have each scored one goal for the Huskies. Becca Schoales has the lone assist on the season for the team.
Sarah Shimer has allowed two goals and made six saves. She has allowed a 1.00 GAA and has a .750 save percentage.
