Women's Soccer Senior Day Set for Sunday at 1 p.m. vs. Portland

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the final home game of the regular season, Santa Clara women's soccer hosts rival Portland at 1 p.m. on Sunday for senior day. The Broncos will honor Brittany Ambrose, Anjel Brown, Kiara Burkett, Mariana Galvan, Jordan Jesolva, Jenna Roering, and Julie Vass. It will also be alumni day with those in attendance honored in a halftime ceremony.

The Broncos are 17-15-3 all-time against the Pilots with the first meeting coming in 1984. Last season Santa Clara beat Portland 1-0 on the road. The last meeting at Stevens Stadium was a 1-0 Bronco win in 2014.

Santa Clara topped Gonzaga 2-0 on Friday night to stay in the race for a top-three finish in the West Coast Conference.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (7-6-4, 4-2-1) has gotten the offense going in recent weeks, scoring multiple goal in four of its last five games after achieving the feat only once in the first 12 matches.

Jordan Jesolva leads the team with six goals and three assists for 15 points. Jenna Roering is second with three goals and has added an assist. Four other Broncos have two goals each and three have found the back of the net once apiece. Freshmen Maddie Gonzalez and Machaela George are second on the team with two assists each and eight other have one.

Melissa Lowder has allowed 12 goals in 14 games for a 0.84 GAA. She has made 45 saves and has a .789 save percentage to go with five shutouts. Courtney Ogren also has one shutout, giving Santa Clara six on the year.

THE PILOTS
Portland (9-5-3, 3-3-1) has not won more than two games in a row this season. On Friday they won at San Francisco 1-0.

The Pilots have outscored opponents 26-17 but been outshot 189-172 and 83-73 in shots on goal.

Hannah Griffiths Boston is third in the WCC with eight goals scored and has added two assists to lead Portland with 19 points. Allison Wetherington is tied for third in the conference with five assists and has added four goals for 13 points. The team has gotten at least one goal from nine other players and at least one assist from eight others.

Hanna De Haan has played in 11 games and allowed 14 goals for a 1.25 GAA. She has made 44 saves for a .759 save percentage and has one shutouts. Rachel Lusby has palyed in seven games and allowed three goals for a 0.46 GAA. She has 20 saves and a .870 save percetange to go with five shutouts.

Special Event: There will be a short ceremony before the game to honor the seniors on both teams. It will also be alumni day with those in attendance honored in a halftime ceremony.

Parking:
 For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
