PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - After qualifying for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) All-American Championships, the Bronco representatives were unable to advance at one of the most competitive tournaments in the country. Santa Clara University standout, Katie Le, lost her opening singles match, and dropped her opener in doubles with partner Jessica Agra.

Le - SCU's first player to receive an individual bid to the NCAA Division I Singles Championships last season - battled Julia Elbaba of Virginia in her first match at the prestigious event in Pacific Palisades. The reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Year fell to Elbaba by scores of 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles, Le and Agra, who were both First Team All-WCC honorees in doubles last season, could not muster a victory over Tulane's duo of Magnusson and Thornton, falling 8-4.

The event was one of the first tournaments of the 2012-13 campaign. The Broncos continue their fall season next week at the SMC Invitational Oct. 12-14. The ITA Regionals at Stanford will follow Oct. 19-23.
