Postmatch Quotes: Santa Clara 3, UC Santa Barbara 1

Sept. 11, 2008

Recap |  Box Score

Jon Wallace, Santa Clara head coach
On winning his 200th career match:
"What I'm most proud of are the players that have helped get this program to where it is today. It is because of players like Cassie Perret, Ynez Carrasco, Becky Potter, the Hirsch sisters, Caroline Walters, Crystal Matich and those who are on the team now that we have 200 wins today."

On the Broncos determination:
"They played through their mistakes very well. After a terrible start to the first three sets, they stayed confident, knew they needed to settle down and start playing their game."

On his favorite moments of the match:
"It's always fun to watch Lindsy [Davigeadono] and Anna [Cmaylo]. When they come up for a block together, it's always huge. Also, Lindsy's kills are just fun to watch."

Lindsy Davigeadono, JR, Setter
On giving Jon Wallace his 200th win:
"It's such a great honor to give Jon his 200th win tonight. He is a great coach and he deserves it. He's a lot of fun to play for and we're so proud to help him reach 200."

On her behind the back dump:
"It was something I learned in the eighth grade. Being tall affords me the ability to do that. I did play basketball and it's something like a hook shot."

Brittany Lowe, SR, Outside hitter
On earning win No. 200 for Coach Wallace:
"It feels great that we were able to help him get his 200th win. He's a great coach and is so deserving of it."

On her favorite moment of the match:
"It's when I'm in the back row and I can watch the blocks on the outside. They're just fun to watch."
