First Conference Game for Women's Water Polo Ends in Loss

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In their first official conference match-up of the season, the Bronco women's water polo team took on No. 16 Pacific. The Tigers outscored the Broncos in the second quarter, 7-1, which sealed the deal and gave them the 13-6 win.

Elizabeth Anderson started the game off with a goal for the Broncos, but the Tigers quickly tied the game 1-1. The Tigers put in two more goals, but Julia Peters scored for the Broncos to make it 3-2 Tigers advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Peters put in her second goal of the game in the second quarter, but the Tigers offense came out on firing, putting in seven goals and took a 10-2 lead going into half.

Both teams remained scoreless in the third quarter, and the Broncos were not able to make up the deficit in the fourth quarter. Cathy Cantoni, Elle Surber and Lauren Radich each scored one goal in the fourth. The Tigers finished out the game with the 13-6 conference win. 

The Broncos will hit the pool again on April 2 at home when they host the the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds at 3:30 pm. Be sure to come out and support your Broncos!
