Set to begin year two of the Claire Linney Era, Santa Clara women's water polo begins their 2023 campaign with a quick road trip south to Monterey to take on Cal State Monterey Bay. The Broncos are coming off a seven-win season in 2022.
NOTES
- Just like last year, the Broncos and Otters are set to square off twice this season. They split the games last year with SCU falling 11-8 in Monterey and winning 12-4 at home in their annual tournament.
- Santa Clara will play 14 games from the comfort of home at the Sullivan Aquatic Center and will once again host a home tournament during the weekend of Feb. 18-19.
- The Broncos return 16 players from last year's roster, including fifth-years Lauren Baglietto and Lauren Voss. Baglietto was honored as a second team all-conference selection at season's end last year.
- A total of five newcomers joined the SCU roster in the offseason - Sophomore Stephanie Nelson and freshmen Megan Chambliss, Sydney Maccabe, Avary Torres and Mila Erceg.
SEASON PREVIEW
"I think this team is not only physically ready, but I think they're mentally ready to go out and play our best water polo."
