SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis squad returns home this weekend to take on California Polytechnic State University and the University of South Alabama.

The Broncos (3-4, 0-1 WCC) will host just their second home match of the spring season on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Cal Poly Mustangs after returning from a six-match road trip.

"It will be really nice to play at home," said Head Coach Ben Cabell. "We're looking forward to two competitive matches and playing on our home courts."

Santa Clara went 2-4 on the trip, including a loss in their first conference battle against the University of San Diego.

Cal Poly is 2-5 on the season and is winless when playing road matches this season. Saturday's bout marks the first of a seven-match road trip for the Mustangs.

On Sunday at 10 a.m. the Broncos shift gears and face the South Alabama Jaguars.

Recently, South Alabama jumped 31 spots in the ITA rankings to vault them to No. 39 overall. Singles player Alexandria Stiteler is also ranked at No. 52 nationally.

"Cal Poly is a good team, we're going to have a close match with them and we're really looking forward to South Alabama, that will be a good test for us to go up against a ranked team," Cabell said.

As of Thursday, both Stiteler and the Jaguars are riding a seven-match win streak.

"We're happy to be healthy, all on the court and playing at home," Cabell said. "We're excited for the weekend."
